Nelken is one of my final year collaborative projects inspired by the Bauhaus style and lavender marriages in interwar Germany.
Explore the details of Otto and Minna’s Zimmerman’s life through each room of their home, and untangle the smoke and mirrors that threatens their reputation. As you delve deeper into this mystery, the less sense this case make as stories begin to unravel the more that is revealed.
Facing red herrings, misdirection and confusing puzzles, Nelken takes the classic who done it genre and expands on it, with the real mystery not being that of a murder, but of the secret queer relationships that the Zimmerman’s hold dear to their hearts, the real reason for their marriage revealed…
I was responsible for creating the modular assets to create the Zimmerman house, as well as smaller set dressing pieces like kitchenware and foliage.
